By wplogin // 11/09/2011

FutureCon Presents: Damn You Behemoth!

1:00pm – 2:00pm – Yorkland ballroom

Want to sample what Futurecon is like?

Come to our one-hour “Test-drive” panel, featuring our “Damn You Behemoth” activity, free cupcakes and candy kabobs, and much more fun!

What’s “Damn You Behemoth?”

It’s a great way to vent stress by telling a story of stuff that’s gone wrong for you lately, then taking out your frustrations on Futurecon’s mascot with a foam sword!

*This event will be raising non perishable food donations and monetary donations for Second Harvest

Alexandra Gerlach

Alexandra Gerlach is an International Master Cosplayer and the “Queen” of Queen of Hearts Costumes in Waterloo, ON.

She specializes in easy-to-follow, step-by-step panels and tutorials that allow any level of costumer to learn advanced techniques. She loves helping, teaching, and passing the tricks of the trade on to anyone who wants to learn. This attitude anchors her approach to panels and her store, where anyone can visit and find great products and great advice.

For over 14 years, Alex’s passions have been rooted in costuming and fandom. She has an unhealthy obsession with fabric, loves to play with theatrical make-up, and Samus Aran and Iron Man are her heroes. You can find her as Miss December in this year’s FutureCon  charity calendar – “Women of Valour”, and any time at her store in Waterloo, Queen of Hearts Costumes.

Her most recognizable costumes include a Moogle Riding a Chocobo at Anime North 2005 (Best in Class Artisan), the Showgirl in a Portal Cake for Gordon Rose’s 50th birthday at FanExpo 2009,  her commission of Bowser in 2010 (Best In Class Master) and Ivy from Soulcalibur IV in 2011 (modeled by Liana K on the cover of the “Women of Valour” calendar). She won Best In Show at Wizard World 2010 with her Apothecary (metal bustle Steampunk) costume… despite entering Out-of-Competition.

2:00pm to 2:45pm – Costume Clinic – Q&A for your cosplay!
